Jessica Cox is the Managing Partner and Founder of JCL Law Group, where she practices exclusively in criminal and driving defence. Jessica earned her Juris Doctor from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia.

Before becoming a lawyer, Jessica spent nearly a decade with the Government of Alberta as a Justice of the Peace and Judicial Case Manager. This unique experience provided her with an in-depth understanding of court operations, judicial processes, and the practical realities of criminal justice. Her background gives her valuable insight into how criminal matters progress through the justice system, allowing her to effectively guide clients through what can often be a stressful and unfamiliar process.

Prior to attending law school, Jessica worked in the anti-human trafficking sector, supporting survivors through case management, legal coordination, and community advocacy. This experience strengthened her client-centred approach and deepened her understanding of the personal and social challenges that often intersect with the criminal justice system.
